Fundraising Opportunities
FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITES FOR PARENTS
Fund raisers are offered during the school year in an effort to lesson budget deficit and are critical to the financial success of our school. Participation from all families is greatly relied upon. In order to meet our average budget, approximately $700 per student for fundraising is planned.
There are a number of key fundraisers along with several on-going fundraisers. Help for the fundraisers does count towards co-operative hours requirement, with time worked during the summer or for rummage as double co-operative hours. We ask and hope for 100% participation for several, if not all, of the fundraisers listed below. Thanks!
ANNUAL FUNDRAISING EVENTS
HARVEST FESTIVAL
A school carnival for which game booths are staffed by parents, staff and students. Participants pay an entrance fee and any food purchases. All games are free once the entrance fee has been paid. Generally there is a contest for best “decorated” pumpkin. Students and adults alike may dress in costume. Parents chair and organize this fun event. Being involved in this is a great opportunity to meet other BCA families and it is also open to the public.
WREATH SALE
In October, families receive an information/order packet. Offerings include beautiful greenery for holiday decoration at affordable prices. Orders are due in November and available for pick-up and delivery to customers by Thanksgiving weekend. Parents fill the orders and help load items as needed.
FAMILY FUN NIGHT
This event is held in February. Each family is asked to donate a bingo basket and can be of any theme. Chairing of the event, decorating, serving, set-up, table rental and return, among many other jobs are done mainly by parents.
FUN RUN
The Fun Run is an opportunity for out of town relatives and friends to assist in the support of the children, as well a local friends, family and neighbors. Children bring home sponsor sheets and ask for pledges for their lap goal or for a total pledge. Prizes are awarded for most laps per student grade, most funds raised by top three individuals, and most funds raised as a class. Donations received from local grocers enable a free lunch served for all participants. Parental support is needed to ensure that the children obtain and collect pledges, secure donations, help at the track, prepare food and so on.
RUMMAGE SALE
To date this has become our most successful fundraiser. This is a very labor and time intensive event and parent support is crucial to the success. Participation is needed for collecting sale items, sorting, set-up, pricing, selling, take down and clean-up. Co-operative hours are doubled for any aid with this event!
