Washington DC Historic Tour

Bi-Annual Washington DC Photo Tour

Bi-Annual Washington DC Historic Photo Tour

Every two years the middle school students of BCA go on a Historic Tour of the East Coast.  Students fund raise for the trip which costs $2,000-$2,500.

The trip is taken following our American History course.  It is awesome to see all the sites that we studied in our History class.

Gettysburg comes to life when you are standing on the top of Cemetery Ridge or when you can stand in the field where General George Pickett and his 15,000 men rushed the union forces in what has become known as “Pickett’s Charge.”

To see the moving Iwo Jima, Vietnam, Korean and WWII Memorials, is a privilege that will never be forgotten.  The enormity of the memorials with all the names engraved make a lasting impression.

Walking through Arlington, seeing the Changing of the Guard Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Memories that last a lifetime.

Most importantly students see firsthand how our Founding Fathers intended the United States be founded upon Biblical principles.  One of the activities on our trip is called a God Find.  Students are to be looking for references to God or Bible verses.  It is amazing how many Bible verses adorn our landmarks. Literally hundreds of references to God and Bible verses.

          It is an awesome experience.

PURPOSE for the U.S. Historic Tour:

“It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often
that this great nation was founded, not by religionists,
but by Christians, not by religions, but by the Gospel of
Jesus Christ.” -Patrick Henry

We believe that no American can experience what it really means to be a blood, sweat and tears American patriot until he or she has stood and walked in the historic footsteps of our founding fathers, and seen the sights which have made our country what it is today.

“It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the Providence
of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for
His benefits and humbly to implore His protection and favor.”
-President George Washington

Our country is going through a very difficult time. We are challenged to be godly citizens as never before. It is a time when we are challenged to stand up for truth and declare our dependence on the almighty God and His divine providence. At time when we are challenged to know our history and government and therefore, to better know where we are headed. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. . .” Psalm 33:12

“I know that this is in our reach because
we are guided by a power larger than
ourselves who created us in His image…”
-President George W. Bush

We are committed to teaching and training the next generation to be responsible, godly citizens. As we look at history, we become more and more aware of God’s hand in shaping our history. There is no better way to rekindle our faith in His power through us, than to walk in the footsteps of the heroes who laid the foundations of our nation and to personally observe the fruits of their labors.

Our students will learn and see at this critical moment in our nation’s history, that “. . . all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27

This trip is not just a student field trip, but rather it will be an experience of a lifetime – a trip which builds memories to last a lifetime, and changes our focus in History.

“Let us look forward to the time when we
can take the flag of our country and nail
it below the Cross, and there let it wave as
it waved in olden time, and let us gather
around it and inscribe our motto: ‘Liberty
and Union, one and inseparable, now and forever,’
and exclaim: Christ first, our country next.”
-President Andrew Jackson
